HILLSBORO, Texas – Sophomore
Austin Haley blasted a pair of home runs and doubled while
Tanner Norman also homered twice, spurring Murray State to a strong 12-2 road baseball victory at Hill Junior College on Saturday afternoon.
The win upped the Aggies' record to 8-4 on the season with their next action slated for Monday at Northeast Texas Community College.
In Saturday's triumph, Murray spotted the hosts a 1-0 first inning lead before starting hurler
Cash Kuiper settled in. The ace righty twirled six outstanding innings, yielding two runs on three hits and struck out seven while picking up the pitching victory.
Ty Frakes added three stellar frames of scoreless, no-hit relief that included six strikeouts to earn the save.
The Aggies got the scoring started in the second stanza when they claimed the lead for good with three runs.
Michael Barham opened the frame with a single, moved to second on a passed ball and came across with the tying run on a
Brennan Morgan hit. Norman then put Murray State ahead for good just three pitches later with a blast over the rightfield wall.
Murray State tacked on another run in the following frame on a Haley solo bomb to left and eventually broke it open for good with four tallies in the sixth as the Aggies notched the final eight runs of the contest.
Nick Vickery had the key hit of the four-run uprising with a two RBI homer while Morgan chipped in a single that plated two more.
All but one starter had at least a hit in the Aggies' 13-hit offensive onslaught led by Haley's three, which also included three batted in.
Norman also drove in three with his two blasts, Morgan had two hits and three RBI with
Marlon Moore chipping in two hits as well.

Brady Taylor and Vickery posted one hit apiece.
