Murray women throttle SW Christian JV

Building a 20-point cushion at the half, the Murray State Lady Aggies put it in cruise control after intermission on the way to an 85-27 rout of the Southwestern Christian Junior Varsity Wednesday night inside Beames Fieldhouse.

Upping their win streak to four in a row while improving to 11-2 on the season, Coach Nate Levine's club will be off until returning to conference play at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at Connors State College.

It was all Lady Aggies from the start with a balanced arsenal they sprinted to a 24-9 edge through one frame and 43-23 at the break. They continued pulling away by outscoring the visitors 18-2 in the third stanza as well as a whopping 24-2 edge in the fourth.

Sophomore Mya Cotto scored in every stanza and tallied 20 points to spur the offensive barrage. Jordyn McNeal posted a solid outing as well, notching a season-best 17 points, as Olivia Quapaw canned three treys and also reached double figures with 13.

Latai Charles and Awtumn Sipes-Louie each tallied season-high scoring totals of nine points apiece. Mireia Cases contributed seven, Keshanti Gordon added six and Elyssia Brooks had four.
