Coach Nate Levine's Murray State Lady Aggies eclipsed the century mark for the first time this season, romping to a 104-74 win over visiting Western Oklahoma State College Thursday night inside Beames Fieldhouse.
Five Lady Aggies had double figure offensive contributions as they closed the regular season with a 15-12 overall record and 7-9 in league play. They finished in a four-way tie for fifth place in the final standings with the Region 2 Tournament slated for next week in Muskogee.
It was a Murray State offensive avalanche from the start as
Sosefina Langi pumped in seven points and
Olivia Quapaw added six in an early flurry that pushed the hosts to a 26-20 edge after one period. That onslaught continued in the second stanza as the Lady Aggies outscored Western, 27-14, behind eight points from Quapaw along with three buckets apiece by
Tierra Williams and
Ongolea Afu.
The third quarter was more of the same as Murray State doubled up the Lady Pioneers during a 30-15 burst as they continued to pull away. Afu had eight of those with
Arissa Garcia tossing in five more as well.
Quapaw ended with 24 points as the scoring catalyst, just ahead of the 20 from Afu. Williams pumped in 16 as Garcia and Langi notched 13 each.
Khalayah Willis scored seven,
Cristina Laudan had six,
Mireia Casas and
Hannah Pinney both contributed two and
Eva Serra had one.
