Murray State Sports Information
Four Lady Aggies pumped in double-figure scoring totals, but Murray State was not able to keep pace with hot-shooting Redlands Community College in a decisive third period of an 83-71 loss to the Lady Cougars Monday night inside Beames Fieldhouse.
Redlands, which improved to 18-8 overall and 8-5 in league play, built a 20-17 lead after one quarter but Murray State was still within striking distance, trailing 40-36 at halftime. The visitors posted their best scoring frame in the third, however, and the Lady Aggies had their worst in being outscored 25-15.
That pushed the Lady Cougar edge to double figures and Coach Nate Levine's club could not get any closer than 10 after that.
Sosefina Langi poured in 22 points to fuel the Lady Aggies, who slipped to 13-11 overall and 5-8 in conference action.
Ongolea Afu posted 12,
Arissa Garcia had 11 and
Tierra Williams also hit double figures with 10.
Olivia Quapaw tallied nine,
Mireia Casas tossed in six and
Hannah Pinney scored one.
The Lady Aggie homestand continues Thursday when they host Northeastern Oklahoma A&M for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
