Freshman
Arissa Garcia hit a pair of critical three-pointers and tallied 10 points in the fourth quarter alone to rally Murray State to a 73-67 road women's basketball win over University of Arkansas-Cossatot on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Aggies got off to a hot shooting start, sinking four treys in the opening period, but led only 20-18 at the end of one. Shooting struggles over the next two frames allowed the host Lady Colts to take a 51-48 edge into the final stanza.
That's when Garcia and Murray State heated up with
Olivia Quapaw also notching all five of her points off the bench in the fourth as well.
Sosefina Langi contributed a balanced effort throughout the game, including 10 in the second period, on the way to a team-high 21 points. Garcia finished with 20 while
Mireia Casas notched 12 and
Tierra Williams had 10 to round out four Lady Aggies in double figures.
Hannah Pinney joined Quapaw with five points.
The Lady Aggies will carry a 5-1 record into the Thanksgiving week break with their next outing slated for Tuesday, November 28 at home against the Southern Nazarene Junior Varsity.
