Murray State Sports Information
Very little went right for the Murray State men's soccer team on Sunday as an inspired group of visitors from Rose State notched its second 3-0 win of the season against the Aggies.
Coach John Connor's Aggies, who slipped to 7-2-1, will try to get the ship righted in a hurry with a Tuesday road game on tap at Connors State College.
Goals were hard to come by on either side most of the day as each squad had numerous chances in the first half but it went to the half scoreless.
Murray State looked on the verge of grabbing the lead with 31 minutes remaining in the game when
Dominic Woolley got free for an open shot in front of the goal, which was saved.
Three minutes later the Raiders claimed the lead for good following a nice centering pass in front of the Aggie goal. A pair of near misses moments later kept Murray State scoreless and seemed to shift the momentum entirely on the side of Rose State.
The Raiders then tacked on insurance goals at the 21-minute mark and 15-minute mark of the second half.
