TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Murray State College Men's and Women's Soccer Head Coach Sam Winning resigned earlier this week to take the head men's soccer coaching job at an NCAA DII Program.

Although Coach Winning was only at Murray State for one year, he put together a tremendous season. Winning led the men's team to a Region 2 Tournament Championship, Mid-South District Championship, and the No. 10 ranking in the country. The Aggies also earned a berth to the National Tournament under Winning.

Coach Winning was also named the Mid-South District Coach of the Year this past season.

"We appreciate Coach Winning's work during his brief time here and wish him the best moving forward," said Justin Cellum, Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations. "Transitions like this can come quickly in collegiate athletics. Murray State has established itself as a place that identifies quality coaches for our programs, and our focus remains on maintaining continuity and a strong experience for our student-athletes."

Murray State College will launch two national searches - one for a head coach of the men's soccer team and another for a head coach of the women's soccer team.
