Briana Knabe poured in a career high 32 points as the Murray State Lady Aggies took command early and rolled to a huge 70-59 conference victory at Connors State on Thursday night.
The Cowgirls came into the contest unbeaten at home but were blitzed early by the visitors with Murray State racing to an 18-9 edge through one stanza and matched point for point in a high-scoring second frame in which both team pumped in 26 points.
Leading 44-35 heading to the second half, Knabe took the offensive load on her shoulders in the third frame as Connors had no answer for the 5-foot-2 stalwart, who notched 11 points to fuel a 17-14 scoring edge in the frame.
The Lady Aggies then maintained the double digit lead through the final stanza to improve to 11-6 overall and 4-1 in league play, moving into a tie for first with NOC-Tonkawa after their first conference defeat Thursday against Eastern.
Adding to Knabe's huge performance,
Jade Millan also reached double figures with 14 points.
Lanie Gooch chipped in seven,
Remi Langmaid and
Reese Webb both tossed in six,
Mattie Busby scored three and
Paige Taylor added two.
Murray State returns home Monday for its next action against Redlands.
