Both women's and men's Murray State basketball teams finished up long road trips with losses on Saturday.

The Lady Aggies dropped an 82-68 verdict to 10th ranked Jones College in Louisiana to snap a three-game winning streak while falling to 3-2 on the year. The Aggie men meanwhile had a cold shooting start and could not recover in a 78-51 loss at Coffeyville Community College at they fell to 4-3 on the season.

In the women's contest, the Lady Aggies got off to a tremendous start, building a 21-20 edge after one stanza but watched Jones rally to grab a 39-34 lead at the half which the Mississippi squad never relinquished while canning 12 three-pointers.

Bella Peterson sank 10 of 21 field goal tries, including three treys, and also pulled down 10 rebounds on the way to a season-best 24 points in spurring the offensive charge.

Jade Millan had another strong outing, connecting for four of five three-pointers as well as adding seven rebounds and three steals for a 20-point performance.

Murray State also got a double-double from Lanie Gooch with 12 points and 12 rebounds with Mattie Busby also tallying 10 points and Payton James chipping in two.

The Aggies shot just 28 percent before intermission in Kansas, missing all nine three-point attempts, while falling in a 39-20 hole at the break against the Red Ravens. They improved that percentage with 10 of 26 shooting the second half but were outscored 33-12 from beyond the arc.

Kameron Johnson had his best game as an Aggie, leading the scoring column with 10 points. A.J. Richard tallied eight points and pulled down six rebounds.

Each team will return home for a non-league date this week before hosting Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in the conference opener on Thursday. The Aggies tangle with Paris Junior College at 7 p.m. Monday while the Lady Aggies face off with Southwestern Christian at 5:30 Tuesday at Beams Fieldhouse.
