Stellar pitching continued to lead the charge for the second-ranked Murray State Lady Aggies as they rolled to a pair of shutout triumphs over visiting Arkansas State University-Newport in softball action Friday.

The Lady Aggies were 8-0 and 14-0 winners and have not allowed a run over their last eight outings and 13 of their past 14 contests overall.

Murray State's winning streak moved to 23 while the Lady Aggies also continued their Region 2 dominance improving to 20-0 in league action and 43-1 overall. Their next action is Thursday at National Park College, which was also the last opponent to score on the Lady Aggies back on April 8.

Coach Aaron Mullens' unit put any doubt in the opener out of the way in the initial inning by plating five runs as they batted all the way through the order. Brylee Fanning, Bradi Harman and Cady Ammons all singled ahead of a Kaylee Carter two RBI double and "Bubba" Lee three-run homer over the leftfield wall.

It remained 5-0 Lady Aggies until the sixth as Isabella Hardeman was silencing the Aviators' bats. That's when the hosts scratched across three more tallies to end it early on the run rule. A Fanning double started the final flurry before a Carter triple and Lee walkoff single ended it.

Hardeman cruised through six strong frames, yielding only a pair of base runners on singles while striking out 13 and walking nobody.

Fanning, Harman, Ammons, Carter, Lee, Avery Beauchamp and Ryann Phillips all posted two hits for the Lady Aggies.

Murray State scored early and often in the second contest, pushing across four runs in the first inning, one in the second and third before putting it away with an eight-run eruption in the fourth.

Lee's three-run blast was the key blow in the first stanza and she added another solo homer in the third inning. Ammons contributed a home run and the hosts picked up a slew of doubles from Haili Igou, Beauchamp and Brighton O'Connor along with a pair by Phillips.

Harman twirled a no-hitter in the five-inning run rule, fanning 11 and walking two.

Igou and Phillips racked up three hits each with Fanning, Lee and Beauchamp all adding two. Harman, Ammons and O'Connor ended with one hit each.
