LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Murray State College Assistant Softball Coach - Saige Vandiver - has been named the 2026 Easton/NFCA NJCAA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year, recognizing her outstanding contributions to one of the nation's premier softball programs.

The Easton/NFCA Assistant Coach of the Year Awards recognize coaches from each NFCA membership category for their tireless dedication to the sport of softball and their commitment to the education, growth, and development of young women both on and off the playing field.

The award recipients were nominated by NFCA member coaches and selected by a vote of their peers on the NFCA Awards Committee. Vandiver and the other national recipients will be recognized during the NFCA Convention Awards Brunch on Dec. 12 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Vandiver played an instrumental role in another historic season for the Lady Aggies, helping guide Murray State College to a 66-3 overall record, a Region 2 Regular-Season Championship, and a Region 2 Southwest Plains Tournament Championship. The Lady Aggies also advanced to the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series for the sixth consecutive season, finishing third in the nation.

Throughout the 2026 campaign, Vandiver helped oversee one of the nation's most successful teams on both sides of the ball. Murray State consistently ranked among the nation's elite while collecting numerous individual honors, including NJCAA Player of the Year, NJCAA Female Student-Athlete of the Year, and six All-American selections. Head Coach Aaron Mullens was also named Region 2 Coach of the Year.

Now entering her fourth season with the Lady Aggies, Vandiver has helped establish Murray State as one of the premier junior college softball programs in the country. During her tenure, the Lady Aggies have compiled an incredible 188-13 overall record, gone 88-0 in Region 2 play, made three consecutive NJCAA Division II World Series, and coached 15 NJCAA All-Americans and 24 All-Region performers.
