Seminole pulls away as Aggies go cold

SEMINOLE, Okla. – After leading by a point with just over eight minutes remaining, Murray State watched the host Trojans close on a 27-15 run to notch a big Seminole State 71-60 Region 2 men's basketball triumph on Thursday night.

With their second straight loss, the Aggies slipped to 17-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play with a pivotal matchup with league-leading Connors State slated for their next outing at home on Thursday, February 13. The Trojans stayed in contention in the packed league race, upping their record to 15-8 and 5-4 in conference action.

Murray State led virtually from the start until the final eight-minute Seminole run but could never put much distance between them and the Trojans, including a 29-23 edge for the Aggies at intermission. The hosts more than doubled that scoring total in the final 20 minutes, erupting for 48 points while Murray State managed only 31.

Brandon Ivery notched a team-high 19 points that included 10 points in the opening half. Bol Agu punched in 11, but just two of those came after the break as the Trojans held him in check around the paint.

Elijah Tshibangu also reached double figures with 11 points, RJ Chatman checked in with nine, Rustin Coffey had eight while Abeeng Agot chipped in two.
