SEMINOLE, Okla. – Murray State College standout
Abeeng Agot has been named Region 2 Player of the Week after his strong performance in the Aggies' victory over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on Feb. 26.
Agot played a major role in Murray State's 68-61 win, scoring 14 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting from the field. He also converted 4-of-5 attempts from the free-throw line, helping the Aggies maintain control throughout the contest.
In addition to his scoring, Agot contributed in multiple areas of the game, finishing with four rebounds and a pair of assists. His efficiency and physical play helped Murray State execute offensively and hold NEO A&M to the lowest scoring output of the season.
Agot's performance against NEO A&M reflects his consistent production throughout the season. He is shooting 57.3 percent from the field while averaging 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, and leads the team with 43 blocks this season. His all-around play has made him a key contributor for the Aggies.
The Aggies travel to Altus to take on Western Oklahoma State College this evening. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
