MIAMI, Okla. – Lights out shooting from the perimeter provided the bulk of the firepower Thursday night as Northeastern Oklahoma A&M posted an 83-62 win over Murray State in men's basketball action.
The Aggies connected on seven of 23 three-point tries but wasn't nearly enough to offset a whopping 14 treys from the Norsemen. Nine of those bombs came after the break as Murray State was unable to make any ground after trailing 37-29 at intermission.
RJ Chatman was the lone Aggie with more than one three pointer, sinking four on the way to 14 points, which tied
Bol Agu for team-high scoring honors. That total included four assists for Chatman.
Agu hit six of 14 field goal tries to tally 14 points as well, adding five rebounds and four assists.
Elijah Tshibangu and
Chanon Frye each contributed 11 points with Frye also pulling down a team-best seven boards.
Rustin Coffey just missed becoming a fourth double digit contributor with nine points.
Isaac Jones rounded things out with three points.
The Aggies remained one win shy of the 20-victory plateau while dipping to 19-8 overall and 8-6 in conference play and are scheduled to close out the regular season next week, including a Monday home date with Eastern Oklahoma State College.
