TONKAWA, Okla. – Following two solid weeks and a tough first half Monday night, the Murray State offensive firepower returned just in time, erupting in the second half for a 74-57 conference road victory at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa to snap a three-game losing skid.

The Aggies, who had averaged just 54 total points in three straight losses, nearly equaled that total in a second half blitz in which they outscored the hosts Mavericks by a 52-38 count while getting back on track.

Coach Josh Davis' club improved to 18-6 overall and 7-4 in league action before returning home to meet Northern Oklahoma-Enid on Thursday night. Tonkawa slipped to 4-22 on the season.

Murray State held a 22-19 edge and Tonkawa made three pushes to take the lead in the second half only to get turned back by three pointers from RJ Chatman and Elijah Tshibangu. Another off-balance Chatman trey with seven minutes remaining extended the margin to double digits and the Aggies were able to pull away from there as they canned seven second half three pointers after connecting on only one before the break.

It was sophomore Bol Agu that provided the bulk of the second half offensive explosion as he pumped in 20 of his game-high 22 points after intermission.

Chatman canned four three pointers on the way to a season-best 16 points as Tshibangu tossed in 15 and Isaac Jones tallied 8. The Aggies also got six from Chanon Frye, Abeeng Agot added four, Ignas Juskevicius notched two, and Rustin Coffey rounded out the total with one point.
