Stellar pitching was on full display as the fourth-ranked Murray State Lady Aggies notched a pair of run rule victories over Western Oklahoma State College in Tishomingo on Saturday.

The Lady Aggies notched a 9-0 triumph in game one and followed up with a 12-2 verdict to improve their record to 37-5 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 14-0. Murray State will be back on the road for a non-league twinbill Tuesday at Coffeyville Community College.

In Saturday's opener, Courtney Grey was outstanding in the pitching circle, twirling a complete game three-hit shutout that included three strikeouts in the six-inning affair.

Murray State broke a scoreless duel in the third stanza when national RBI leader Shaylin Midgley belted a double that plated a pair of runs. The hosts tacked on two more in the fifth inning as Bradi Harman led off with a single and came around on a Haili Igou triple. Midgley added another RBI on a ground out.

A five-run explosion one frame later put it away as Karsyn York doubled and Bella Butler smacked a home run to get things rolling. Igou posted her second triple of the game and Grey finished it herself with a two-run single.

York and Igou each tallied two hits with one apiece from Harman, Midgley, Grey, Kennedy Lord, Mattie Richardson and Butler.

The Lady Aggies utilized the combined pitching of Dara Hamlin, Brooklyn Ellis and Harman in the second contest as Hamlin worked three of the five innings, scattering two runs on two hits to record the victory.

After a scoreless opening stanza, Murray State broke on top with three runs fueled by a York triple. They pushed across three more runs in the third with Harman opening with a single ahead of RBI hits from Igou, Midgley and Grey.

Coach Aaron Mullens' club notched six runs in the fourth on the way to help end things early, cashing in Harman and Butler singles along with three Western errors.

York, Harman and Butler all contributed two hits as Igou, Midgley and Grey each added one.
