Aggies scorch nets for 14 treys to blast Western

The Murray State Aggies scorched the nets for a season-best 14 three pointers and romped to a 92-61 triumph over visiting Western Oklahoma State College in the regular season finale Thursday night.

Evening their season record at 15-15 and 10-6 in conference play, the Aggies tied Western for the third place slot going into the Region 2 tournament next week at Muskogee.

It didn't take Murray State long to get the hot shooting going from downtown as they sank exactly half the treys before intermission, led by three straight from Tarrance Austin early in the contest.

Austin pumped in 13 points prior to the break as the Aggies carried a 43-26 lead to the locker room.

The perimeter onslaught continued over the final 20 minutes as RJ Chatman, Jackson Lawley and Stanley Harley all tossed in a pair of three pointers with Harley notching a team-high 14 after the break as Murray forged a 49-35 scoring edge.

Murray State had four double digit scorers fueled by 19 points from Austin and 17 by Harley. They also picked up 14 from Lawley and Isaiah Lewis tallied 12. Austin had three treys, Harley hit two and Lawley canned four.

Chatman ended with three treys on the way to nine points, Treyvaughn Williams had eight, Rustin Coffey scored seven, Emery Eberhard chipped in four and Dayvantia Campbell rounded things out with two.
