SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Murray State Lady Aggies racked up 17 extra base hits, including six home runs, on Saturday while cruising to a pair of wins on the final day of the Drury Classic.

Coach Aaron Mullens' squad blistered Southeastern Iowa Community College, 12-3, before romping past Coffeyville Community College by a 17-1 count in game two.

Now 21-3 on the season, the Lady Aggies are slated to open conference play Tuesday on the road against Eastern Oklahoma State College with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.

After scoring a first inning run on a Haili Igou RBI triple in the opener against Southeastern Iowa, Murray State yielded three tallies in the bottom of the frame to actually trail 3-1 before putting the clamps on the Blackhawks, who saw their record slip to 7-2 on the year.

The Lady Aggies meanwhile plated at least one run in each of the next five stanzas to end the contest early on the run rule.

Courtney Gray's solo home run in the second narrowed the gap before back-to-back RBI doubles from Shaylin Midgley and Gray in the third frame put Murray State ahead to stay. Karsyn York and Bradi Harman each doubled to highlight a two-run fourth before Midgley blasted a solo homer in the fifth.

A five-run sixth inning put it away for the Lady Aggies as Lexi Meadows slapped a triple to begin the uprising.

Murray State tallied 15 hits in the contest paced by three apiece from Midgley and Gray. Meadows, Harman and Igou all added two hits with York, Gracie Lute and Brighton O'Connor all finishing with one.

Brooklyn Ellis earned the pitching victory, allowing no runs on one hit in four strong innings of relief. She struck out two and walked one.

The Lady Aggies led just 1-0 in the second game thanks to a Kennedy Lord second inning RBI double before an offensive avalanche in the third completely sealed the victory as they sent 16 hitters to the plate and scored 13 runs.

Three straight walks started the decisive frame before Midgley pounded a home run over the centerfield fence to clear the bases. Gray followed with a double and Brighton O'Connor homered to make it 7-0.

After two outs it was another flurry by Murray Stats as York doubled and two free passes later Igou also doubled to plate three runs. A Coffeyville error and Gray single made it 12-0 before O'Connor belted her second roundtripper of the inning to cap the scoring.

Igou's three-run blast in the fourth rounded things out for the Lady Aggie offense as she finished with six runs batted in. O'Connor drove in four with her two home runs while Midgley had three RBI on two hits. Gray contributed three hits with York and Lord posting one each.

Dara Hamlin notched the pitching triumph, allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts over three innings. Bella Butler tallied two frames of scoreless one-hit relief.
