DENISON, Texas - The Murray State Lady Aggies upped their season record to 10-0 and ran their regular season winning streak to a whopping 67 games on Friday by posting a pair of victories in the THF Winter Blast at Grayson County College.

Murray State broke things open late in a 7-3 triumph against Vernon College and then scored early and often in a 10-2 blitzing of Iowa Central College.

Coach Aaron Mullens' squad was slated to close out the event with two games Saturday against perennial Division I power Cowley County as well as Paris Junior College.

The Lady Aggies spotted Vernon a 1-0 lead in game one but that was short-lived as they immediately tied the score with a second inning tally as Gracie Lute led off with a walk and raced all the way around on a Courtney Gray RBI triple to right.

It remained 1-1 until the fifth stanza when Murray State began to take control with three runs. Haili Igou and Shaylin Midgley started the rally with one-out singles and Lute plated the go-ahead tally on a sacrifice fly. Brighton O'Connor's two-out, two-run single capped the flurry.

Murray State tacked on three to put it completely away in the seventh frame with Lexi Meadows driving in a pair with a single ahead of a Bradi Harman's run-scoring double.

Harman, Igou and Midgley all had two hits in pacing the 12-hit Murray State attack. Karsyn York, Meadows, Lute, Gray, O'Connor and Mattie Richardson all tallied one hit.

Gray also recorded the pitching triumph, allowing just one earned run on three hits with eight strikeouts in six and one-third innings.

The Lady Aggies kicked things into gear early in the nightcap, plating three runs in the first inning when Midgley smacked a RBI single and Lute followed with a two-run double as Harman chipped in a hit in the frame.

That however proved to be half Murray State's hits for the game although they continued to find ways to score. Midgley belted a solo home run in the third with three walks and two Iowa Central errors leading to four Lady Aggie runs in the fourth stanza.

York blasted a two-run homer in the fifth to help force the run rule.

Dara Hamlin twirled four solid innings, yielding two unearned runs on two hits in notching the pitching win.
