TONKAWA, Okla – Murray State built as much as a nine-point lead down the stretch before holding off host Northern Oklahoma College, 92-88, in men's basketball conference action Monday night.
The Aggies moved to 12-13 on the year and remained tied for third in league play with a 7-4 record. They'll be right back on the road Thursday night at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid.
In Monday's contest, Murray State was battling from behind much of the contest, including a 53-48 deficit at intermission. They eventually took the lead for good on a
Stanley Harley three pointer with 11:20 remaining in the second half. From there the Aggies gradually increased that margin to 89-80 and hit just enough free throws to finish it off in the closing minutes.
Coach Josh Davis' squad connected on 11 of 23 three point attempts in the game, led by five from sophomore
Tarrance Austin, who poured in a season-high 27 points to go along with 25 from Harley on nine of 19 shooting overall.
RJ Chatman reached double figures as well with 13 points,
Isaiah Lewis and
Ignas Juskevicius each tallied eight,
Treyvaughn Williams tossed in seven with
Emery Eberhard adding four points.
