Another huge offensive outing from sophomore Shaylin Midgley propelled the Murray State Lady Aggies to a sweep of Seward County College Friday in Tishomingo.

Midgley blasted a pair of home runs and drove in six runs in a 7-5 game one victory and then accounted for three of the Lady Aggies' 11 hits in an 8-4 triumph in the second contest.

Now 16-1 on the season, the 11th ranked Lady Aggies will have a return matchup with Grayson County College at home at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Lady Vikings just snapped Murray State's 69-game regular season winning streak earlier this week.

The Lady Aggies spotted the Kansas visitors a 3-0 advantage with three solo homers in the top of the first inning of the opener but answered with four tallies of their own in the stanza to take the lead for good.

Karsyn York walked and rode home on a Bradi Harman double. Haili Igou followed with a walk as well before Midgley powered out her first three-run homer over the centerfield fence to make it 4-3.

Two innings later they were on the offensive again as Lexi Meadows doubled and Harman reached on a single prior to another three RBI smash from Midgley to center.

Seward County cut the deficit in half with a pair of runs in the fifth before Brooklyn Ellis came on in relief in the pitching circle and slammed the door on the Lady Saints with two and one-third frames of scoreless three-hit relief.

Midgley and Harman finished with two hits each while Meadows, Gracie Lute and Brighton O'Connor all accounted for one.

The visitors once again broke out to a 3-0 edge in the nightcap before the Lady Aggies came storming back.

Murray State scored its first tally in the second frame when Midgley doubled and raced home on an O'Connor single. They tied things at 3-3 one inning later and Midgley was once again in the middle of things, slicing a single that plated Harman, who had earlier doubled. Courtney Gray came through with the tying hit on an RBI single to left.

Coach Aaron Mullens' squad kept on the throttle with another single run in the fourth as York singled and scored on a Seward error. Midgley singled again to start the fifth stanza with O'Connor chipping in a run-scoring double ahead of Mattie Richardson's two-run homer. Harman tossed in a solo home run in the sixth just for good measure.

Midgley posted three hits with Harman and O'Connor contributing two apiece. York, Lute, Gray and Richardson all had one hit.

Dara Hamlin was credited with the pitching win, twirling the first four and one-third frames, scattering three runs on five hits. Ellis closed with two and two-third stanzas of two-hit relief, allowing one run.
