A scorching hot first half start staked the Murray State Aggies to a massive 30-point halftime cushion and they cruised the rest of the way for a 94-83 road victory Thursday night at Redlands Community College to remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Aggies sizzled for seven three pointers in the opening 20 minutes while racing to a 55-25 advantage in their most dominant half of the entire season, pouring in a season-best 94 points for the game.
Stanley Harley and
Isaiah Lewis were the catalysts of the early charge, combining for 27 points before intermission as the Cougars had little defensive answer.
Redlands caught fire with a whopping 58 points after the break but the Aggies utilized solid balance again in the second half to maintain a double digit edge throughout.
Harley tallied a season-high 27 points, notching a pair of three pointers, to fuel the Murray State attack. Lewis added a strong 21-point effort as well, hitting four treys along the way.
RJ Chatman also reached double figures with 12.
Tarrance Austin and
Emery Eberhard had eight points apiece,
Rustin Coffey scored six,
Jackson Lawley totaled five with
Dayvantia Campbell adding four and
Treyvaughn Williams three.
Now 8-9 overall and 3-0 in league play, the Aggies return home for a makeup contest with 15-2 powerhouse Connors State on Saturday for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
