A late six-run rally in the opening contest fueled Murray State to a pivotal baseball conference sweep of Northern Oklahoma College-Enid at The Ranch on Saturday afternoon.
The Aggies scored six runs in its final two at bats for a 9-8 triumph and then followed up with a dominant 12-2 triumph over the Jets as they improved to 26-10 overall and 10-6 in league play. Next on the docket for Murray State is a twinbill at University of Arkansas Rich Mountain on Thursday in Mena, Arkansas.
Trailing 8-3 in the sixth, the Aggies began the comeback with
Garrett Gruell's conference leading 13
th home run of the season. A walk and hit batsman later,
Patrick McCullough powered a three-run homer to left to quickly narrow the gap to 8-7.
Trace Necessary then stepped to the plate and smacked a solo blast to knot the score.
With the game still tied in the seventh,
Gage Gilchrist opened with a triple to rightfield before a pair of intentional walks.
Wilbert Espinal capped the dramatic comeback with a walkoff RBI single to center.
Nathan Darden was credited with the pitching victory after tossing a scoreless seventh out of the bullpen. Espinal finished with three hits, including a home run, as McCullough also tallied three hits and drove in three runs. Gilchrist and Gruell also posted two hits apiece in the 12-hit Murray State charge.
After the game tying homer in game one, Necessary was the catalyst in a 14-hit assault in the second contest as he contributed three hits, including a double and homer, along with five runs batted in.

Brody Roe found the answer for the Jets' offense as he twirled seven strong innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and also struck out five.
The game was tied 2-2 in the third when Murray State plated a pair to take the lead for good on a
Kale Miller run-scoring hit. Necessary's three-run home run over the centerfield wall an inning later gave the Aggies plenty of breathing room.
Brady Benedict also produced a three-hit outing that included two RBI. Gruell tossed in two hits, including a triple, while
Andrew Tinsley also tripled.
