The 10th ranked Murray State Aggies baseball team continued its torrid early offensive pace with wins over McCook College and North Lake Community College on the road Monday.

Murray State smacked McCook Nebraska by a 9-3 count in game one and then dumped North Lake, 8-2, in game two.

Now 5-0 on the season, the Aggies next scheduled action is a home doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday against Connors State.

Against McCook, the Aggies made the most of seven hits and capitalized on six errors to jump in front early and cruise the rest of the way. They plated one run in the first, four in the second, two in the third and single tallies in the fifth and sixth while claiming a commanding 9-0 advantage.

Dylan Hill worked four innings on the mound, yielding no runs on only one hit with six strikeouts and two walks to record the pitching victory. Kyle Holzer and Nathan Darden added one scoring frame of relief apiece.

Offensively, Patrick McCullough notched three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs to spur the charge. Jaxon Gless posted two hits with a double and scored three times. Garrett Gruell and Brady Benedict contributed run-scoring singles.

After going homerless in the opener, Gruell made up for it in the second contest, smacking a two-run blast in the fifth and a solo shot in the sixth inning to run his total to seven on the young campaign.

The Aggies were limited to just a single tally through four frames as Gage Gilchrist accounted for the lone run after doubling in the third inning. It was Gruell that opened the floodgates in the fifth blasting a line drive over the leftfield wall to make it 3-0. Ethan Rone chipped in a RBI single moments later.

Following Gruell's solo blast in the sixth, Murray capped the scoring with Kale Miller's RBI double in the seventh as well as a Gruell run-scoring single for his third hit of the contest.

On the mound, Brody Roe had another solid performance with five shutout innings for the victory as he scattered a pair of hits, struck out one and walked three.

Gilchrist, Clay Jung, McCullough, Rone and Miller all ended with one hit.
