Lady Aggies squelch NOC-Enid in big second half

Breaking open a tight game in the final quarters, the Murray State Lady Aggies ran their overall winning streak to 14 and posted their 17th straight home conference victory Saturday afternoon with a 68-43 triumph over Northern Oklahoma College-Enid inside Beames Fieldhouse.

The 25th ranked Lady Aggies clinched no worse than a tie for the conference crown while improving to 21-6 overall. They will host Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa in the final home game of the season for Sophomore Night Thursday starting at 5:30.

Murray State took an 18-12 advantage in the opening quarter before each team pumped in 15 in the second frame. The Lady Aggies began to pull away in the third with an 18-11 scoring edge fueled by eight points from Reese Webb.

Mattie Busby then caught fire in the final stanza with 11 points as the hosts finished the contest on a 17-5 offensive run.

Webb led four Lady Aggies in double figures with 16 points. Briana Knabe contributed 15, Busby finished with 14 and Payton James also had 11. Remi Langmaid narrowly missed joining that double digit crew with eight points as Lanie Gooch rounded out the scoring with four.
