It was an offensive slugfest at The Ranch as Murray State and Richland College combined for a whopping 60 runs in two games for an Aggie baseball sweep on Monday afternoon.

The Aggies slugged their way to a 20-10 win in the opener, scoring the final 11 runs of the game after rallying from a 10-9 fourth inning deficit. It took another comeback by Murray State in Game 2, as the hosts plated five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to post a 16-14 triumph over the Thunderducks.

Upping their record to 7-2 on the year, the Aggies will remain home for a four-game series with North Central Missouri College on Friday and Saturday at The Ranch.

In the opening win, Murray pounded out 18 hits, including three home runs and five doubles as they scored at least once in every frame of the six-inning run rule.

Trailing 10-9 in the fourth, the Aggies claimed the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the stanza spurred by a Gage Gilchrist RBI single and Patrick McCullough two-run double. Jaxon Gless homered an inning later to push across three more tallies with an Andrew Tinsley double being the key blow in a six-run sixth to put it away.

Haeven Cichocki worked out of a fourth inning jam and then added a scoreless fifth to garner the pitching win, yielding two runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts in one and two-third innings.

Gless fueled the offense with three hits, including the home run and a double while driving in five runs. McCullough also belted three hits, two of which were doubles, as well as adding two RBI. Gilchrist, Clay Jung, Wilbert Espinal and Brady Benedict all had two hits for the Aggies.

The Aggies made the most of seven hits in the nightcap, notching five runs in both the sixth and eighth stanza, proving to be just enough. A pair of walks were sandwiched around a Benedict single to start the decisive eighth inning uprising.

In fact, the only other Murray State hit in the frame was a triple from McCullough that scored a pair for the lead. Tyler Zylstra then worked a scoreless ninth in notching the pitching win. Tinsley had a home run as part of two hits and drove in two.
