The Murray State Aggies showed nice balance, taking a first half lead and slowly extended it throughout en route to a 68-53 triumph over Arkansas-Cossatot in DeQueen, Arkansas on Saturday.
Now 4-3 on the season, the Aggies continue their current four-game road swing on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. rematch at Neosho County College in Kansas. Murray State toppled the Panthers, 76-50, in the season opener back on November 1.
Eleven different Aggies got in the scoring column on Saturday, but it was the one-two punch of
Isaiah Lewis and
Stanley Harley that led the charge, combining for 17 points after intermission as they pulled away.
Murray State was in front 32-23 at the half and then outscored the Colts by a 36-30 margin over the final 20 minutes. They finished the game with nine three pointers.
Lewis canned three treys and tallied 14 points while Harley chipped in 13 for the game as well. R.J. Chatman and
Rustin Coffey each posted nine points, combining for five three pointers.
Ignas Juskevicius added six points,
Emery Eberhard and
Ezekiel Williamsonbey scored four each,
Jackson Lawley had three with
Tarrance Austin,
Dayvantia Campbell and
Treyvaughn Williams pitching in two apiece.
