Murray State women go cold in loss to Hill

Box Score By Kevin Farr
Murray State Sports Information

After getting off to a blazing start from outside Murray State went ice cold, including a very rough fourth quarter as Hill Junior College rallied for a 57-49 win over the Lady Aggies on Saturday afternoon inside Beames Fieldhouse.

Coach Steve Lowe's club connected on six first quarter three-pointers while building a 20-12 edge through one stanza but managed only two treys the remainder of the contest.

Despite those perimeter shooting woes, Murray State still was up 33-24 at intermission but was outscored 21-11 in the third frame as Hill snagged a one-point advantage. The Lady Aggies then added just single buckets from Jade Millan and Bella Peterson along with a Reese Webb free throw for their only five points over the final 10 minutes.

Millan was the lone Lady Aggie in double figures with 14 points as Mattie Busby and Lanie Gooch ended with eight apiece. Peterson and Remi Langmaid tossed in six each, Webb scored four and Payton James added two points.

The Lady Aggies fall to 5-3 on the season but will need to recover in a hurry as they return to conference action on the road Monday evening at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid.
