Murray State Sports Information

A consistent offensive attack pushed Murray State to a first half lead and the Aggies maintained it after intermission, holding off a couple Eastern runs on the way to a 67-62 conference win Thursday night at Beames Fieldhouse.

The victory snapped a two-game skid to improve the Aggies to 9-11 overall but 4-2 in conference play. Murray State will be right back home Saturday night in a makeup contest with Northern Oklahoma-Enid slated for a 7:30 tipoff.

Murray State utilized 10 points each from Stanley Harley and Isaiah Lewis in the opening 20 minutes to take a 33-27 edge into the locker room at the break.

Each team had its moments in the second half as Eastern notched a 35-34 scoring advantage but Tarrance Austin tossed in nine points and Lewis drilled all four free throws to keep the Aggies in front down the stretch.

Harley posted a team-leading 16 points with Lewis and Austin each contributing 14. Treyvaughn Williams pumped in eight, RJ Chatman had seven, Emery Eberhard scored six with Rustin Coffey adding two.
