Murray men win streak snapped at three

A three-game winning streak for the Murray State Aggies was snapped Saturday night at the hands of conference co-leader Connors State, 80-63, inside Beames Fieldhouse.

The visiting Cowboys got off to a hot start and never really slowed down after building a 36-27 halftime cushion on the way to improving to 17-2 on the year.

Sophomore Tarrance Austin fueled a solid scoring second half for the Aggies, pumping in 17 of his game-high 21 points, to lead a 36-point charge. That, however, still proved to be short of Connors State's 44-point eruption.

Murray State had three double digit scorers as Stanley Harley contributed 14 and Isiah Lewis tossed in 10. Treyvaughn Williams and Emery Eberhard each chipped in five, R.J. Chatman scored four while Dayvantia Campbell and Quincy Jones tallied two apiece.

Things don't get any easier for the 8-10 Aggies Monday as they will be back on the road against another league co-leader Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami.
