Four Murray State Aggies tallied double figures but it was not enough to offset a hot shooting second half by the host Rangers in a 76-65 loss at Ranger Junior College on Saturday.
The Aggies trailed only 28-26 at intermission but were outscored 48-39 over the final 20 minutes.
Murray State wraps up the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule with a record of 5-9. The Aggies return to action on Monday, January 8 opening conference action at Seminole State College.
Tarrance Austin and
Emery Eberhard each pitched in six points in a low-scoring opening half as the Aggies trailed by only two. Both teams heated up considerably after the break with Ranger pulled away fueled three treys and a 15 for 20 performance at the charity stripe.
Stanley Harley pumped in 11 of his team-high 13 points after the half. Eberhard notched 12 points with Austin and
Isaiah Lewis contributing 10 apiece.
R.J. Chatman and
Ignas Juskevicius posted five each,
Rustin Coffey scored four,
Treyvaughn Williams added three,
Jackson Lawley tossed in two and Dayvanta Campbell finished with one point.
