TISHOMINGO, Okla. – For the sixth consecutive season, the Murray State College softball team went undefeated in Region 2 play. The Lady Aggies earned their final two wins in league play over Carl Albert State College today behind stellar pitching and relentless hitting.
Before the game, the Murray State College softball sophomores -

Avery Beauchamp,
Kaylee Carter,
Brylee Fanning,
Isabella Hardeman,
Bubba Lee,
Carolyn Overton,
Ryann Phillips,
Alanna Routt,
Jaliyah Simmons,
DrewAnn White, and
Addisyn Wright - were honored for their dedication and hard work while wearing the Lady Aggie uniform.
Game 1: Murray State 5, Carl Albert State 1
Carl Albert struck first in the opening inning, using a solo home run to take an early 1-0 lead. From there, though, it was all Murray State.
The Lady Aggies answered in the second inning with aggressive baserunning setting the tone.
Lilly Wyche and
Kaylee Carter pulled off a double steal to move into scoring position before
Avery Beauchamp dropped down a bunt single, bringing home Wyche to tie the game. Later in the inning,
Bubba Lee lifted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Carter and giving Murray State a 2-1 lead.
Murray State continued to manufacture runs in the fourth. Beauchamp again sparked the offense, swiping multiple bases before Lee delivered her second sacrifice fly of the game to extend the lead to 3-1.
Brylee Fanning followed with a double to left, scoring
Ryann Phillips and pushing the advantage to 4-1.
The Lady Aggies added an insurance run in the fifth when
Kaylee Carter laced a double to center, bringing home Wyche to cap the scoring at 5-1.
Isabella Hardeman picked up the win for the Aggies in the circle. Hardeman threw 2 ⅔ innings, while striking out three and giving up one run.
Rylan Peevyhouse fired 2 ⅓ scoreless innings, while striking out one.
Carolyn Overton closed the game out with two innings of scoreless softball, while striking out two.
Game 2: Murray State 21, Carl Albert State 0 (5 Innings)
If Game 1 was about execution, Game 2 was pure dominance. Murray State erupted for 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Jaliyah Simmons set the tone with a solo home run, and the Aggies followed with back-to-back blasts from
Lilly Wyche and
Kaylee Carter to make it 4-0 almost instantly.
The inning snowballed from there.
Bubba Lee added an RBI single,
Brylee Fanning drove in a run after being hit by a pitch, and Simmons later drew a bases-loaded walk. By the time the dust settled, Murray State had sent a message with a commanding 10-0 lead after just one inning.
The Aggies kept pouring it on in the second. Simmons launched her second home run of the game—a three-run shot—highlighting another massive inning. Carter, Beauchamp, and Lee all contributed RBI singles, while
Ryann Phillips cleared the bases with a three-run double. Fanning added yet another home run as Murray State pushed the lead to 20-0.
In the third,
Kennedy Wardlaw added the finishing touch with an RBI double, extending the lead to 21-0 and putting the run rule into effect.
Carolyn Overton got the ball for the Lady Aggies. Overton earned the win as she went 2 ⅓ innings, while striking out five.
Addisyn Wright and
Alanna Routt each fired a scoreless inning in relief.
Isabella Hardeman,
DrewAnn White, and
Keelie Treat all toed the rubber in the fifth inning.
The Lady Aggies now turn their attention to postseason play as they begin play in the Region 2 Southwest Plains Softball Tournament starting on Wednesday. Murray State will play at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Regional Park in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
