Six-Run Sixth Fuels No. 13 Aggies Past Thunderducks

Box Score TISHOMINGO, Okla. - The Murray State College Aggies baseball team used a powerful offensive outburst in the middle innings to defeat Dallas College - Richland, 13-4.
 
Murray State got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Rayner Beene singled to left field, bringing home Brady Taylor to give the Aggies an early 1-0 lead.
 
The Aggies added another run in the third inning when Sean Keenen lined out to right field, allowing Michael Barham to tag up and score to extend the lead to 2-0.
 
Richland answered in the fourth inning on a 2-RBI double, knotting the game at two.
 
Murray State regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Tanner Norman singled to center field to score Beene and make it 3-2. The Thunderducks responded again in the sixth inning, tying the game on an RBI single before taking a 4-3 lead with a run-scoring double.
 
The Aggies quickly flipped the momentum in the bottom half of the sixth inning with a string of home runs. Taylor blasted a three-run homer to center field that scored Boston Knowles and Grey Johnson, putting Murray State back in front, 6-4. Barham followed with a solo home run, and Norman capped the inning with a two-run shot to center that scored Beene and pushed the Aggie lead to 9-4.
 
Murray State continued to add on in the seventh inning when Barham launched his second home run of the game, a two-run blast to left field that scored Taylor and stretched the lead to 11-4.
 
The Aggies added the final runs in the eighth inning when Taylor doubled to right field, driving in Marlon Moore and Jackson Poage to seal the 13-4 victory.
 
Caden Allen got the start on the mound for the Aggies. Allen threw three scoreless innings, while striking out seven. Heath Graf, Aiden Luscombe, Hank Brown, Chance Baker, and Isaac Gammel each threw an inning. Kylen Dodge retired the final out of the sixth inning via strikeout and was credited with the win as the Aggies scored six in the bottom half.
 
The Aggies open up Region 2 play on Thursday as they host NOC-Enid in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
