Aggies Drop Final Game of Series to No. 10 Tigers

Murray State lost to LSU-Eunice on Sunday, 15-4

Box Score EUNICE, La. - The Murray State College baseball team jumped out to an early lead but were unable to slow a powerful offensive surge from No. 10 LSU-Eunice, falling 15-4 in non-conference action.
 
Murray State struck first in the opening inning with a two-out rally. Michael Barham started the push with a single before Tanner Norman followed with a base hit to put runners in scoring position. Sean Keenen then delivered an RBI single to score Barham, and Marlon Moore added another run-scoring single to bring home Norman and give the Aggies a 2-0 advantage.
 
After LSU-Eunice answered with two runs in the second inning, Murray State regained the lead in the third. Norman and Keenen opened the frame with back-to-back singles, and a sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position. Cason Johnson drove in a run with a groundout, and Brady LaViolette followed with an RBI single to push the Aggies back in front, 4-2.
 
The momentum quickly shifted in the bottom half of the third inning as LSU-Eunice erupted for six runs.
 
LSU-Eunice continued to extend its advantage over the next three innings. The Bengals added two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, and two more in the sixth to secure the victory, 15-4.
 
The Aggies return to the diamond March 4 as they host North Central Texas College in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
