Box Score 2 TISHOMINGO, Okla. – The Murray State College Lady Aggies continued their winning ways Monday, earning a doubleheader sweep of Indian Hills Community College with a 3–0 shutout in game one and a 14–5 offensive explosion in game two.
Game 1: Murray State 3, Indian Hills 0
Murray State struck first when
Cady Ammons delivered a two-run double to right field, scoring
Jaliyah Simmons and
Bubba Lee to give the Lady Aggies a 2–0 lead.
Jaliyah Simmons added to the lead in the second inning with a double that brought in
Brylee Fanning, extending Murray State's advantage to 3–0.
In the circle,
Isabella Hardeman went all seven innings, striking out 12 while allowing no earned runs as the Lady Aggies' defense held Indian Hills off the scoreboard.
Game 2: Murray State 14, Indian Hills 5 (5 innings)
Indian Hills scored first in game two on a double that drove in a run to make it 1–0. Murray State answered immediately in the bottom half of the first as
Cady Ammons doubled home
Jaliyah Simmons to tie the game, and an error by Indian Hills allowed runs from
Kaylee Carter,
Mercades Lopez, and
Cady Ammons to give the Lady Aggies a 4–1 lead.
Indian Hills pulled a run closer in the top of the third when a base hit scored a Warrior runner, making it 4–2, but Murray State responded with a big inning in the bottom half.
Avery Beauchamp and
Lilly Wyche each doubled to bring in runs,
Ryann Phillips followed with an RBI double, and
Jaliyah Simmons hit a three-run home run, expanding Murray State's cushion to 11–2.
Indian Hills scored three more runs to make it 11–5 in the top of the fifth inning, but Murray State finished strong.
Jaliyah Simmons singled in
Lilly Wyche, and
Bubba Lee reached on an error that drove in
Jaliyah Simmons and
Brylee Fanning, sealing the 14–5 run-rule victory.
Keelie Treat earned the win in the circle today for the Lady Aggies as she went 2 ⅔ innings, while giving up two runs and striking out one.
Addisyn Wright and
DrewAnn White both pitched in relief.
The Murray State College softball team travels to Denison to take on Vernon College and Blinn College on Feb. 13. First pitch is set for 1:30 p.m.
