Murray State College Softball swept Clarendon College in the opening day doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TISHOMINGO, Okla. – The Murray State College softball team delivered a dominant performance in their season opener this afternoon, sweeping Clarendon College in a doubleheader highlighted by explosive offense and shutdown pitching.
 
Game 1: Murray State 26, Clarendon 0 (Five Innings)
Power was on full display as the Aggies launched nine home runs in the contest. Lilly Wyche led the charge with a massive day at the plate, crushing three home runs and totaling 12 total bases. Kaylee Carter added two home runs, a double, and finished with 10 total bases, while Bubba Lee, Jaliyah Simmons, and Jordi Oakley each left the yard as well.
 
Murray State's offense was relentless beyond the long ball. The Aggies racked up doubles from Brylee Fanning (2), Avery Beauchamp, Ireland Groeber, Mercades Lopez, Ryann Phillips, and Carter, consistently putting runners in scoring position. Simmons and Cady Ammons added speed to the attack with a stolen base apiece.
 
In the circle, Murray State pitching was outstanding. Bella Hardeman, Hailey Prince, and Rylan Peevyhouse combined for a no-hitter. Hardeman set the tone with three hitless innings, while Prince and Peevyhouse each threw a hitless inning, en route to the first no-hitter in as many games.
 
Game 2: Murray State 24, Clarendon 0 (Five Innings)
 
Murray State carried the momentum straight into Game 2, once again overwhelming Clarendon with power and depth en route to another decisive victory.
 
The Lady Aggies' offense was explosive, featuring eight home runs and multiple extra-base hits throughout the lineup. Cady Ammons powered the attack with two home runs and eight total bases, while Lilly Wyche, Kaylee Carter, and Kennedy Wardlaw each homered and added triples. Jaliyah Simmons, Bubba Lee, Lyndee Harless, and Mercades Lopez also went deep.
 
Murray State added four triples in the contest from Carter, Wardlaw, Wyche, and Ryann Phillips, constantly putting pressure on Clarendon's defense. Carter also chipped in a stolen base, continuing her all-around standout day.
 
In the circle, the Lady Aggies used a true staff effort en route to their second no hitter in as many games. DrewAnn White, Keelie Treat, Addisyn Wright, Alanna Routt, and Carolyn Overton each worked a hitless inning on Tuesday.
 
The Lady Aggies return to the diamond on Wednesday, February 4 as they continue another doubleheader against Clarendon College. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
