Box Score 2 TISHOMINGO, Okla. – The Murray State College softball team delivered an offensive showcase and dominant pitching performance Friday, sweeping a doubleheader against Coffeyville Community College with decisive run-rule victories, 14-0 and 16-1.
Game 1: Murray State 14, Coffeyville 0 (5 innings)
The Lady Aggies wasted no time getting on the board when
Brylee Fanning opened the bottom of the first inning with a leadoff solo home run to center field.
Murray State added to its lead in the second inning as
Avery Beauchamp scored on Fanning's sacrifice fly before
Cady Ammons delivered a two-run single to push the advantage to 4-0.
Murray State broke the game open with a six-run third inning.
Mercades Lopez drove in a run with a single, followed by an RBI hit from
Jaliyah Simmons.
Bubba Lee delivered a two-run double, Ammons added another RBI single, and
Kaylee Carter capped the surge with a run-scoring double to make it 10-0.
The Lady Aggies continued their offensive momentum in the fourth inning.
Jordyn Nichols blasted a solo home run to center field, and Murray State later added three more runs, highlighted by Carter's two-run double that sealed the 14-0 victory.
Isabella Hardeman earned the win in the circle for the Lady Aggies as she threw three scoreless innings, while striking out three.
Addisyn Wright and
Alanna Routt each fired a scoreless inning in relief.
Game 2: Murray State 16, Coffeyville 1 (5 Innings)
Murray State carried its offensive rhythm into the second game, erupting for three home runs in the bottom of the first inning. Fanning again sparked the scoring with a leadoff solo shot. Simmons followed suit as she went back-to-back with Fanning, doubling the lead. Carter drilled a solo home run later in the inning to give Murray State a 3-0 lead.
The Lady Aggies continued to pile on runs in the opening frame as Lopez delivered a two-run double and
Ryann Phillips added an RBI single to give Murray State a commanding 6-0 lead.
The second inning put the game well out of reach.
Lilly Wyche crushed a grand slam to center field, scoring Simmons, Lee, and Carter. Later in the inning, Simmons drove in two more runs with a single, and Lee added a two-run double to extend the lead to 14-0.
Murray State added on in the third inning when
Kennedy Wardlaw lined a two-run single to right field, scoring Carter and Wyche.
Coffeyville scratched a run across in the top of the fifth on an RBI single. The Lady Aggies, though, quickly slammed the door and earned a 16-1 victory.
Hailey Prince earned the win in the circle for the Lady Aggies as she threw two scoreless innings, while striking out four.

DrewAnn White threw an inning apiece in relief.
With the wins, the Lady Aggies improve to 24-0 on the season.
The Murray State College softball team hosts Cowley College on Saturday for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for noon.
