Hardeman throws No-Hitter as Lady Aggies Cruise to Pair of Victories

No. 1 Murray State Dominates on Day 2 in Denison

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DENISON, Texas – The Murray State College softball team put together an explosive offensive performance on Friday, defeating Highland Community College, 15–2, and North Central Texas College, 16-0.
 
Game 1: Murray State 15, Highland Community College 2 (5 Innings)
The Lady Aggies wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Jaliyah Simmons singled and later scored on a sharp RBI double by Cady Ammons to give Murray State a 1–0 lead. In the circle, Keelie Treat set the tone with a dominant bottom half of the inning, striking out two Highland hitters to keep the Cougars off the board.
 
Murray State broke the game open in the second. Avery Beauchamp started the rally with a double and Lilly Wyche followed with a walk. With two runners aboard, Simmons launched a three-run home run to left field, extending the Lady Aggies' advantage to 4–0.
 
The power surge continued in the third inning. Kaylee Carter blasted a solo home run, and later Wyche raced around the bases for an inside-the-park two-run homer to push the lead to 7–0. Highland answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but Murray State quickly regained control.
 
The fourth inning proved decisive. Bubba Lee opened the frame with a solo home run, and Ammons added a double to spark another rally. A sacrifice fly from Mercades Lopez plated a run, and the Lady Aggies loaded the bases with a series of walks. Brylee Fanning then delivered a clutch two-run double to cap a five-run inning and stretch the margin to 12–2.
 
Murray State sealed the run-rule victory in the fifth with more long balls. Ammons crushed a two-run homer to center, and Carter followed with her second home run of the game to make it 15–2.

In the bottom half, Rylan Peevyhouse closed the door in the circle, striking out two hitters as the Lady Aggies secured the win. Addisyn Wright was also very effective out of the bullpen for Murray State as she threw 1.1 hitless innings and collected a pair of strikeouts.
 
Game 2: Murray State 16, North Central Texas College 0 (5 innings)
Murray State opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning when Avery Beauchamp delivered an RBI single to bring home Kaylee Carter. An RBI single from Lilly Wyche made it 2-0.
 
The Lady Aggies exploded in the third inning, plating 11 runs to break the game open. Wyche sparked the surge with a two-run double and later added a two-run triple, finishing with a huge day at the plate. Ryann Phillips added a sacrifice fly, Brylee Fanning recorded an RBI triple, and Jaliyah Simmons drove in a run with a double. Murray State also capitalized on an error before Carter and Beauchamp added RBI singles to extend the lead to 13-0.
 
Murray State continued the momentum in the fourth inning as Jordi Oakley drove in a run with a single, and Mercades Lopez capped the scoring with a two-run single to secure the run-rule victory.
 
Isabella Hardeman was exceptional in the circle, striking out nine through five innings en route to a no-hitter.
 
With the victories, the Murray State College softball team improves to 16-0 on the season. The Lady Aggies return home Feb. 20 for a doubleheader against Hutchinson Community College. First pitch is set for noon.
