TISHOMINGO, Okla. - The Murray State College Lady Aggies put together a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Redlands College, 72–66.
Murray State got off to a solid start, building a 17–12 advantage after the first quarter. Redlands responded with a strong second period, using an efficient offensive stretch to take a 42–33 lead into halftime.
The Lady Aggies continued to battle in the third quarter, but Redlands maintained control and carried a 55–48 advantage into the final period. Early in the fourth, Redlands pushed its lead to 60–50 with just under nine minutes remaining, putting Murray State in a challenging position.
This is when the Lady Aggies found another gear. Murray State erupted on an 18–0 run, completely shifting momentum and turning a double-digit deficit into a 68–60 lead with just over two minutes to play. The defensive pressure and timely scoring fueled the comeback, and Murray State closed out the game to secure the 72–66 victory.
Aniah Richard led the Lady Aggies with a game-high 19 points, while
Emily Steven added 13 points to help anchor the comeback effort.
Eliece Perry grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds while
Keshanti Gordon registered eight points and nine rebounds.
The Aggies return to the court Thursday for a road contest against Connors State College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
