CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Murray State College standout - Isabella Hardeman - received the NJCAA's top individual honor for a pitcher today, being named the NJCAA DII Pitcher of the Year. The prestigious recognition comes just two days after she was also selected as the NFCA NJCAA DII Pitcher of the Year, capping off an incredible season for the Lady Aggie ace.

Hardeman was unhittable all season for the Lady Aggies, delivering a perfect 30-0 record in the circle. She led the country with a 0.35 ERA over 140.2 innings of work. Hardeman struck out 200 hitters while allowing only 7 earned runs all season. Opposing hitters recorded a miniscule .132 batting average against the freshman from Oklahoma City.

"As stated earlier in the week, our coaching staff is extremely proud of Isabella and her individual recognition at the national level. To be able to sweep pitcher of the year honors from the NFCA and the NJCAA is a remarkable accomplishment," said Coach Mullens. "It is a testament of her work ethic and the belief she has in her teammates, her coaches, and most importantly herself. Coach Vandiver, Coach Rosenberry, and I are excited for another year with Isabella in our program while continuing to help her and our team achieve new heights."

In addition to leading the nation in several statistical categories, the freshman also set single-season school records for win-loss record (30-0), ERA (0.35), WHIP (0.59), and strikeouts (200) in her first season in Tishomingo.

Hardeman's dominance in the circle helped propel the Lady Aggies to an incredible 62-3 overall record and perfect 32-0 mark in Region 2 play. The Murray State College softball team won the Region 2 Southwest Plains Tournament and made the NJCAA Division 2 World Series for the fifth consecutive year. Murray State College won three games at the World Series, finishing fourth in the country.
