OXFORD, Ala. – Dominant pitching, excellent defense, and a six-run fourth inning powered Murray State College to an 8-0 victory over Bryant & Stratton College (WI) in the NJCAA Division II Softball Tournament on Tuesday.

Murray State broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning when Haili Igou delivered a two-out RBI single to left, bringing home Avery Beauchamp, who had walked and advanced on a sacrifice bunt earlier in the frame.
 
After two quick outs to begin the fourth, Adison "Bubba" Lee sparked the rally with a solo home run to center field, igniting the offense. The Aggies followed with four straight hits, including an RBI double from Beauchamp and RBI singles by Ryann Phillips and Brylee Fanning. Cady Ammons capped the outburst with a two-RBI single up the middle, pushing the Murray State lead to 7-0.
 
The Lady Aggies put the finishing touches on the Bobcats in the top of the fifth inning. Haili Igou delivered a sac fly to the outfield, scoring Karsyn Nye from third and giving Murray State an 8-0 victory over Bryant and Stratton College.
 
Isabella Hardeman was electric in the circle today. The freshman standout earned the complete game shutout, while striking out six over five scoreless innings.
 
"I thought we came out a little too aggressive offensively. We were trying to make things happen instead of just letting the game come to us," said Coach Mullens. "We settled in finally in the 4th inning and had a big inning with 2 outs. I thought Bella threw the ball well today. She was around the zone too much at times, but executed her pitches when she needed it the most. We will have our work cut out for us against a good Iowa Central team tomorrow."
 
With the win, Murray State advances to take on No. 10 Iowa Central Community College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
