Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ALTUS, Okla. — The Murray State College softball team capped off an undefeated Region 2 regular season in style this afternoon, sweeping Western Oklahoma State, 3-1, and 16-6.

In Game One, Murray State got on the board first in the top of the third when Bradi Harman ripped a line drive double to left, scoring Brylee Fanning and giving the Aggies a 1–0 lead. Western answered in the bottom of the fourth with a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Berlynn McLaren, bringing home Reese Mathis, who led off with a triple to right field.

With the score tied 1–1, the Lady Aggies responded in the fifth inning. After Brylee Fanning reached on a single, Haili Igou crushed a two-run homer to right field, putting Murray State on top for good, 3–1.

The Lady Aggies shut down the Pioneers the remaining three innings to seal the victory. Bradi Harman pitched six innings of one-run ball, while Isabella Hardeman earned the save.

"We struggled to find any rhythm offensively in Game 1," said Coach Mullens. "McLaren did a good job keeping us off balance, and we could not string anything together. Bradi pitched very well, and Bella did an amazing job coming into to unfamiliar territory to close the game out. It is always good to find a way to persevere and find a way to win."

The Lady Aggies came out with more urgency in Game Two. Fanning set the tone early in the top of the first with a solo home run to left field. After a single by Igou and a walk by Brynn Surmont, Adison Lee launched a three-run blast to center field, giving Murray State a commanding 4-0 lead before Western had a chance to respond.

Hardeman picked up where she left off in the first game, striking out the side in the bottom of the first and keeping the Pioneers off the scoreboard for the first three innings.

Murray State continued to pile on in the second. After a double by Ryann Phillips and another walk from Fanning, Igou delivered a two-run double. Bradi Harman followed with an RBI double of her own, and Lee capped the inning with another RBI double to stretch the Lady Aggies' lead to 8-0.

The third inning brought more fireworks as Fanning crushed her second homer of the game, a three-run shot to left, scoring Avery Beauchamp and Phillips. A few batters later, Lee crushed her second long ball of the day - a two-run homer that brought her RBI total to seven on the afternoon.

Western finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth with six runs. However, it was too little, too late, as Hardeman re-entered the game to shut the door and help Murray State earn the run-rule victory.

"As far as Game 2 goes, I felt we were more focused and had urgency from the first pitch," said Coach Mullens. "The regular season is now officially behind us and we now looking forward to preparing for the new season ahead of us - postseason."

With the win, the Lady Aggies finish the regular season 55-1 and a perfect 32-0 in Region 2 play. This is the fifth consecutive season the Murray State College softball team has been undefeated against Region 2 opponents.

Next up for the Murray State College softball team is the Region 2 Southwest Plains Softball Tournament May 7-10. The Lady Aggies earned the No. 1 seed and will bring a 35-game win streak into the tournament with their opening round game scheduled for May 7 at 4:00 p.m.
