TISHOMINGO, Okla. - Murray State College women's basketball earned a hard-fought 66-63 victory over North Idaho College on Sunday afternoon at Beames Fieldhouse.

The Lady Aggies came out strong as
Emily Steven hit a pair of threes to give the hosts an early 6-0 lead. Murray State would extend the lead to double figures as they led 26-13 after the opening quarter. Murray State would maintain the 13 point advantage as the halftime buzzer sounded.

Murray State would keep their double digit advantage until midway through the fourth quarter. The visitors from Idaho would go on a run in the final quarter to cut Murray State's advantage to just two with 36 seconds to play. The Lady Aggies would split a pair of free throws, extending the lead to three. The hosts got a key defensive stop and rebound as the buzzer sounded, earning a 66-63 victory on Sunday.

Emily Steven led the Aggies with an impressive 22-point performance, shooting 7-for-10 from the field and connecting on four three-pointers.
Aniah Richard and
Jordyn McNeal each added 10 points, with Richard also corralling a team-best seven rebounds.
Jada Toure provided a spark off the bench with eight points and six rebounds.
"It's nice to get a win over a well-coached team with good players," said
Coach Levine. "At the same time, though, we have to be more disciplined down the stretch and not let our foot off the gas at any point."

As a team, Murray State shot 36.1% from the floor and hit seven three-pointers. The Lady Aggies' defense forced 13 steals and limited North Idaho's offense in key stretches.

Murray State returns to action on Friday, Nov. 14 as they travel to Kansas to take on Hutchinson Community College. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
