TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Murray State College men's soccer has earned a spot among the nation's elite, coming in at No. 20 in the latest NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Coaches Poll. The ranking reflects the Aggies' strong start to the 2025 season, as they boast an impressive 8-1-3 overall record and remain unbeaten in Region 2 play at 8-0-2.
The Aggies have been the most consistent teams in the region this fall, combining a balanced offensive attack with a disciplined defense that has helped them stay at the top of the standings. Their unbeaten record in Region 2 competition underscores their ability to rise to the occasion in crucial conference matchups.
Head coach
Sam Winning praised his team's efforts while emphasizing that the Aggies are focused on bigger goals ahead. "It is always good to get national recognition after a season of good work," Winning said. "However, we see this as an initial step towards our goals for the season and aim to achieve many more things this season."
With postseason play on the horizon, Murray State aims to build on its national ranking and continue its pursuit of a Region 2 title and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament. The Aggies will look to maintain their momentum as they head into the final stretch of the regular season, beginning with a Region 2 matchup against Eastern Oklahoma State College on Oct. 19.
