Murray State Sports Information
Tarrance Austin's driving layup with less than a second remaining provided the game winner as Murray State stunned Paris Junior College, 58-57, on the road Sunday afternoon.
Austin's winning bucket ended a see-saw affair throughout the contest following a Paris missed shot with five seconds to play. The game was knotted 26-26 at intermission with several lead changes throughout while the Aggies avenged a 71-66 loss to the Dragons just two weeks ago in Tishomingo.
Freshman
Isaiah Lewis led the charge in the second half, pumping in 13 of his game-high 19 points after intermission. That mark included five three pointers.
Ignas Juskevicius had another strong performance inside, as the 6-foot-8 freshman notched a season-high 14 points.
Rustin Coffey scored five of his seven points after the break while R.J. Chatman had all five of his points in the second half.
Austin ended with six,
Stanley Harley had five with Emery Everhard adding two.
The 5-4 Aggies will wrap up a four-game road swing Thursday at Grayson County College before finally returning home Saturday for a 4 p.m. rematch with the University of Arkansas-Cossatot.
