Huge 3rd quarter spurs Lady Aggies to league lead

In a showdown for the conference lead, the Murray State Lady Aggies scored the first 13 points of the second half to break things open and ran their winning streak to seven with a dominant 63-47 road win at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa Monday night.

Now 6-1 and alone atop the league standings, the Lady Aggies return home Thursday to close out the first half of conference action against Western Oklahoma College.

Murray State jumped out to a 15-11 advantage through one period and 32-26 at the half before eliminating any doubt to the outcome with the 13 straight points out of the break. Jade Millan pumped in a pair of three-pointers with Reese Webb and Mattie Busby adding buckets inside before a Briana Knabe's trey capped the flurry.

In total, the visiting Lady Aggies racked up a 22-4 scoring cushion for the stanza, scorching the nets for five three-pointers, and never looked back as they improved to 14-6 on the season.

Millan led three players in double figures for Murray State with 14 points as Knabe and Remi Langmaid tallied 11 apiece. Webb scored nine, Bella Peterson had seven with Busby chipping in four, Payton James had three while Lani Gooch and Teniola Okunrinkoya each notched two.
