AGGIES RALLY BUT FALL SHORT TO BUTLER 75-67

El Dorado, Kansas- The Murray State Aggies rallied back to within one after being down by as much as 13 to the Butler Grizzlies but fell short as the Grizzlies closed out the game with a 75-67 victory Saturday night in the Power Plant. The loss puts the Aggies to 3-4 on the season and the Grizzlies improved to 6-2.

Derek Guest led the Aggies with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Sophomore Lloyd Daniels finished with 15 points and tied his season high with 7 assists. Freshman Guard Karey McLeish added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Freshman Center Adam Gouro set a career high with 12 points and tied his career high with 12 rebounds, the first double- double of the center's career.
After trailing by as many as 13 points with 1:48 to go in the first half, the Aggies went on a 8-2 run to close the half down seven when Derek Guest hit a three pointer in the left corner as the buzzer sounded.

Murray State would get off to a good start with Adam Gouro scoring the first points of the second half to cut the lead to five. But the Grizzlies were able to go on a 9-4 run to push the lead back up to ten with 12:03 to go. A layup by Gouro and a dunk by McLeish brought the aggies back to with in six with 10:19 left in the game.
After both teams traded buckets, Derek Guest hit a three to pull the Aggies with in two with 6:28 to go. The teams traded buckets again and after a technical foul on the Grizzlies and Guest going one for two on the technical free throws the Aggies were within one with just under five minutes to play.

The Grizzlies would push the lead back up to eight with 1:34 to go in the ball game. The Aggies would come within 3 points with 34 seconds to go but made free throws by Butler in the closing seconds would give the Grizzlies the victory.

Juwan White was the leading scorer for the Grizzlies with 17 points. Mohamed Fofana added in 15 points and Jon'il Fugett scored 14.

The Aggies shot 34 percent from the field and 28 percent from behind the three point line for the game while also winning the glass by a margin of 4.

The Aggies next play Monday night at Beames Fieldhouse where they will take on Nation Wide Prep at 7:30.
