Akash Miriyala enters his second season as an Assistant Coach for the Murray State College Women’s Basketball program.
Miriyala's primary responsibilities include scouting, film breakdowns, analytics, and assisting with day-to-day operations. He maintains a variety of advanced analytics metrics for use in scouting, player development, in-game adjustments, and goal-setting/tracking. Miriyala also assists with team travel, equipment management, recruiting, and player development.
In his first season the Lady Aggies achieved a 15-13 overall record, including wins over Panola College, Howard College, and Connors State. The Lady Aggies had four Freshman average double figures, including Sosefina Langi (14.8 PPG & 6.0 RPG) who was the leading vote-getter on the All-Region 2nd Team.
Prior to Murray State College, Miriyala held various roles as a financial and data analyst. He has researched and written numerous articles focused on topics around basketball analytics, the WNBA, and the women’s game at-large.
Miriyala earned a BS in Finance and Business Analytics from Indiana University in 2016. He is from Naperville, IL and lives in Tishomingo with his dog, Zo.
