Edgar Gonzaga

Edgar Gonzaga takes the reigns of the Murray State College Men's Soccer Program after serving as Head Men’s soccer coach at Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa. He led the Warriors to an Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Conference Title and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in 2017. While at Waldorf, he also coached two Conference Newcomers of the Year, one Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a Defensive Player of the Year as well as a Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. In addition, he helped guide 13 first team all-conference players, 14 second team all-conference players, 12 conference players of the week, and one NAIA Defensive Player of the Week. In the classroom, the team maintained a 3.0 GPA with 12 Academic Conference Awards, three NAIA Scholar Athletes, and six Champions of Characters. 

A Dallas native, Gonzaga graduated from Northeastern State University with a B.S. in Health/Human Performance in 2014 and a M.A. in Organizational Leadership/Sports Management from Waldorf University in 2017. He played three years at Northeastern State University where he earned MIAA Conference Honors, MIAA Academic Honor Roll, participated in the MIAA Conference Tournament and made a NCAA National Tournament appearance. Gonzaga also played with the Tulsa Athletic of the National Premier Soccer League in the summer of 2014.
