Andrew Poulter is in his third season as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Murray State College. Poulter was a part of the staff that helped the Aggies get to the National Tournament for the first time since 1969.  In his fourth year of collegiate coaching, Poulter helps with on-court instruction, scouting opponents, player development, and housing.

Before MSC, Poulter spent the 2017-18 season as a graduate assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He helped guide the Falcons to a second-place finish in the Lone Star Conference and a berth into the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Division II Tournament. It was the deepest run for the school in the NCAA Tournament. As a graduate assistant coach, Poulter helped monitor the academic performance of players, provided on-court instruction, scouted opponents, produced highlight films and performed other assigned responsibilities. He also served as an interim assistant coach for UTPB’s women’s basketball team in 2017-18, and assisted with on-court instruction, player development, scouting opponents and team travel.

As a player, he was a member of UTPB’s 2016-17 squad and helped the Falcons win the Lone Star Conference regular season and tournament championships. UTPB also earned a berth into the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in school history. He went to UTPB after helping IPFW win the Summit League championship and play in the NIT for the first time in school history.

Poulter earned a bachelor of arts degree in general studies at IPFW in May 2016. He is pursuing a master of science degree in Kinesiology at UTPB.
